Anyone who has attended recent NCRC meetings knows that we’ve outgrown our long-time home at the ARC. For the past several months the club has been looking for larger accommodations. We are happy to announce that beginning in October, meetings will now be held at the Gilbert-Burton VFW Post, 52 Underwood Lane, Middletown, RI.
This is a much larger facility with ample parking and is located right off of Coddington Highway.
The next meeting of the Newport County Radio Club will be on Monday September 9th at the Middletown ARC facility.
In addition to a short business session, Bob, WB4SON, will give a brief demonstration on the use of Anderson Powerpole connectors. If you have any equipment that you would like Powerpoles installed on, please bring it with you as Bob will have the tools and connectors available (no charge).
W1OHP, the club station of the The Amateur Radio Club for SSV Oliver Hazard Perry, is now online. OHP will be very active in the Science, Technology, Math, and Engineering (STEM) education program in our area.

Tom took and passed his General Class exam yesterday (Aug 19th), with a perfect score! No doubt he will continue on to the Extra class segment in the future. Tom is the second member from our May Technician class to continue to improve his skills.
International Lighthouse and Lighthouse Weekend (ILLW) was held this past weekend, and W1SYE was on-the-air both days, making about 350 contacts with other stations throughout North America and Europe. Several contacts were made with other stations participating in the ILLW. Members of the public, enjoying the Beavertail Lighthouse Museum on a very nice weekend, stopped into visit, as did several members of NCRC, adding a few guest operators to the log.
