2026 PETE LAWSON OUTDOOR ADVENTURE
Oh, did it rain! But it didn’t stop the NCRC’s Pete Lawson Outdoor Adventure at Colt State Park in Bristol yesterday. Good food and fun was had by the foreshortened assembly of members and their families. Thank you all who braved the rainstorms!
WE recognized and paid tribute to past member and SK, David Brown. His daughter joined us and received an ARRL memorial patio brick with David’s name and call inscribed.
Hope to see you next year under dryer conditions!

The picnic starts Sunday at 11:30AM and runs to 3:00PM-ish.
Delicious catered luncheon by Common Pub & Grille, Bristol, RI (same as last year).
Colt State Park is US-2872 in the Parks-On-The-Air (POTA) radio system.
The PLOA Sunday picnic event is free for all NCRC members and their families. You may wish to make a donation of any amount but not required.
WE NEED A HEAD COUNT to accurately forecast the amount of food to order. PLEASE SIGN UP NOW!

Newport County Radio Club is happy to announce our fourth annual Pete Lawson Outdoor Adventure (PLOA) recognizing the achievements of club members, and the many activities that the club participates in throughout the year. It’s also a fun way to get together and enjoy a late summer day! This year’s event will be held at Colt State Park in Bristol RI on Sunday September 7 starting at 11:30 AM and running through 3 PM. Join us as we:
- Enjoy time with others sharing common interests
- Picnic – Professionally catered luncheon
- Swap Meet (Some equipment from the Estate of Jack Garforth will be available
- Ham related contests & prizes
- Make on-air contacts from Parks On The Air US-2872
