POTA

NCRC has a VERY active POTA program.  The club uses this as a means of encouraging members to set up and use HF gear.  Mentors are available to assist anyone, and the club offers frequent on-air events so folks can see some of the setups that are in use, and participate as well.

To get involved:

  • Contact our POTA coordinator, Joe WA1VEE to request mentor assistance
  • Sign up for the POTA program, Click on the “Login” tab, on the next screen click on “Sign Up” (upper right corner) at this link: https://parksontheair.com/
  • Read the POTA documentation for Hunters and Activators
  • Consider using HAMRS for logging (supports many different OS and devices and is optimized for POTA)
  • Find parks to activate using the POTA App Map
  • Have fun!!!

To report a POTA activation:

We would like to begin collecting information on POTA activations by club members.  The link below will take you to a form that you can fill out.  To avoid needless paperwork, the field “Call Signs Used” will accept multiple call signs.  Any call sign that has gone out over the air should be entered in this field.  Please separate them by commas.
