A new Calendar & Event List function has been added to the website and populated with a few upcoming events. The Event List can be seen at the bottom of the news page (this page), or you may select the “Event” Tab in the black area beneath the masthead photograph. On the Event Page, you may select a list view (default) or calendar view, if you prefer.
If you have an event that you would like to include, that is pertinent to NCRC members, please send the information to Bob, WB4SON
Willy MacLean, W1LY, met with officials at the new KVH Manufacturing facility located at 75 Enterprise Drive, Middletown, RI. They have graciously agreed to host our club meetings. Willy described the meeting as very enthusiastic. KVH has several hams on staff, and there is always a possibility to groom more. Details on locating the meeting room will be sent in an upcoming member email, and will be posted on the main page of the website soon.
Our next meeting will be held at the Middletown American Red Cross facility on March 10th at 7 PM.
Part of our conversation will be our new meeting location for the future. After business, we will have a presentation on operating digital modes given by Bob, WB4SON.

The first reports of Amsterdam Island QSOs happened this morning. Signals have been heard at 3 to 6 S units above the noise level on 17, 20, and 30 meter bands here in RI during the afternoon. The pileups this early in the game are huge and rude. However there is an excellent chance that we will be able to work Amsterdam Island easily. Three club members (that we know of) have worked FT5ZM to date. Good luck!
