According to the ARRL, the FCC has notified congress that they intend to eliminate fees for processing vanity call sign requests (they were spending more money than they were collecting in fees). It will take at least 3 months for the change to be published and to take effect.

Our regular business meeting will be held on Monday April 13th at KVH at 7 PM. We will be discussing Field Day as well as the upcoming J-Pole construction night. After the business meeting, there will be three short presentations on remote controlled ham radio (two roll-your-own approaches, and one commercial approach).
The NCECT-100 EmComm course begins this Wednesday, April 8 at 19:00 hours in the Portsmouth EOC, located in the Portsmouth Fire Station at 2300 East Main Road in Portsmouth.

The ARRL just opened up the process for obtaining a certificate for the Centennial QSO Points Challenge Award, as well as the W1AW WAS certificate or plaque.
