Don’t forget:  Our regular NCRC meeting will be held on Monday June 11 at KVH, starting at 7 PM. This will be our meeting to discuss final Field Day preparations, as well as vote on some pending member applications.

After the meeting, Chuck Johnson from Dayton Ohio will join us via SKYPE to discuss the history of John Kettering (founder of DELCO)

Meeting Reminder: Monday May 14 7PM at KVH

Just a reminder that our regular club meeting will be this Monday May 14th at 7 PM at KVH.

We will be discussing plans for Field Day (June 22-24 in Glen Park, Portsmouth) as well as our usual business meeting.  Assuming the regular meeting ends quickly we will be showing a video “The Last Big Field Day” about a Maryland FD with 50 transmitters on the air (the ARRL changed their rules the year after which is why it was the last “big” field day).

Hope to see everyone there.

Meeting Reminder: Monday April 9 at 7 PM (KVH)

Our April Newport County Radio Club meeting will be held this coming Monday April 9 at 7 PM (KVH 75 Enterprise Ave, Middletown, RI).

In addition to our regular business items we have three new member applicants to vote in, plus discussion of our Winter Field Day results.

ED ED ED – CHANGE – Our postponement was canceled.  Alan rushed back from a trip to give us his wonderful presentation on Ladder Safety.  Thanks Alan!

Hope to see everyone there on Monday!

NCRC Meeting Monday March 12, 7 PM, at KVH

Just a reminder that the NCRC Meeting is tomorrow night, Monday March 12th, at 7 PM at KVH.  We were a bit concerned about the weather but it appears that any snow our area gets will not begin until after 10 PM on Monday and we should all be home before then.

The program for Monday will be given by John King on VHF repeaters.

On another topic, please be aware that The Consortium meeting at the Asia Grille (622 George Washington Hwy, Lincoln) covering Antenna Analyzer use has been rescheduled for Monday March 19th so that NCRC members can attend.  The presentation starts at 6:30 PM, but many folks arrive around 5 PM so they can enjoy a dinner.  The concept for The Consortium was featured on page 67 of the April QST.

Missed a Great Meeting!

If you weren’t at tonight’s NCRC meeting, you missed a great one.  We had 44 folks in attendance.  Part of the draw, besides typical comradery, was the introduction of NCRC Show & Tell.  Members setup four tables to demonstrate various hobby related things.  An certainly Mike K1VI’s presentation on digital modes (especially FT8) was a major reason.

It was a full house with 44 folks at the meeting.
