SEAN DAVID BAKER, K1SDB

A technical expert, Sean comes to the NCRC from the Nashua Area Radio Club (n1fd.org) and brings decades of experience leading nonprofits, building high performing tech teams, and with a passion for hands-on radio skill building. Since joining the NCRC, Sean has willingly contributed his expertise to the ARTEN  mesh microwave project, supported the RI section at the recent HamExpo, and other special events – along with shop talk at club breakfasts and monthly meetings.

Sean has been licensed in the UK since 1990 (G7HRM) and also currently holds an Extra License in the US (K1SDB). Sean got his Extra license with the N1FD club in New Hampshire and trained in the living room of the ARRL New England Division Director, Fred Kemmerer.

Currently Sean is a Dual Citizen of the UK and USA, he has been living in the USA since 2002. He is now based in Westerly, RI and maintains an apartment in the Boston area. Professionally, he is a freelance technical consultant specializing in Physical Security Consulting, Explosive Trace Detection, Project & Product Management, and Six Sigma and Business Process Development.

Sean holds a HNC in Electronic Engineering from Cambridge University (in the UK) as well as many other certificates from Georgia Tech. He is a Life Member of the ARRL as well as MIEE, LMAEE, MIET and holds the level of EngTech (UK) and Certified Energy Manager (CEM).

While in the UK, Sean was a Scout Leader for over 10 years and started JOTA/JOTI for his local Scout District (Cromwell District) – initially creating a weekend with multi scopes, including activities for Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.

He looks forward to contributing to the Newport County Radio Club across these many interests. Top goals as club president include more hands-on training (Tech Nights), more knowledge sharing from club members, and clear team ownership for specific activities.
