{"id":5357,"date":"2020-06-23T11:59:20","date_gmt":"2020-06-23T15:59:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/w1sye.org\/?p=5357"},"modified":"2020-06-23T14:13:33","modified_gmt":"2020-06-23T18:13:33","slug":"vhf-traffic-net-for-field-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/w1sye.org\/?p=5357","title":{"rendered":"VHF Traffic Net for Field Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NE1RI will be holding a NTS Traffic Net at 18:00 local time on Saturday June 27 on the <a href=\"https:\/\/w1sye.org\/?page_id=11\">W1SYE Repeater<\/a> during Field Day for the purposes of passing Bonus Point messages.\u00a0 Usually a single message is passed to the RI Section Manager Bob Beaudet W1YRC, and ten messages can be sent to anyone else.\u00a0 NCS will be NE1RI, with an alternate of WB4SON.<\/p>\n<p>N1CKT will be NCS on the regular Thursday W1SYE net at 7:00 PM, and will do a practice session for those interested after the regular net clears.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.arrl.org\/files\/media\/Group\/Fillable%20Radiogram%20Form.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The standard ARRL Message Form should be used and a fillable copy is available by clicking on this link.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Chuck says the following YouTube video explains the process quite well:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Sending an NTS Radiogram (Field Day) - Ham Radio Q&amp;A\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/55r-dRZ21kw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Applicable Field Day 2020 Rules for message bonuses are:<\/p>\n<p><strong>7.3.5. Message Origination to Section Manager:<\/strong>\u00a0100 bonus points for origination of a formal\u00a0message to the ARRL Section Manager or Section Emergency Coordinator by your group from its\u00a0site. You should include the club name, number of participants, Field Day location, and number\u00a0of ARES operators involved with your station.\u00a0<strong>The message must be transmitted during the\u00a0Field Day period and a copy of it must be included in your submission in standard ARRL\u00a0radiogram or no credit will be given. The message must leave or enter the Field Day\u00a0operation via amateur radio RF.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Section Manager message is separate from the messages handled in Rule 7.3.6. and\u00a0may not be claimed for bonus points under that rule.<strong>\u00a0Available to all Classes.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a07.3.6. Message Handling:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>10 points for each formal message originated, relayed or received\u00a0and delivered during the Field Day period, up to a maximum of 100 points (ten messages).\u00a0Copies of each message must be included with the Field Day report. The message to the\u00a0ARRL SM or SEC under Rule\u00a07.3.5. does not count towards the total of 10 for this bonus.\u00a0Available to all Classes.
