{"id":1452,"date":"2014-11-30T20:42:44","date_gmt":"2014-12-01T01:42:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w1sye.org\/?p=1452"},"modified":"2014-12-03T19:41:49","modified_gmt":"2014-12-04T00:41:49","slug":"please-join-oseca-net-tuesday-7-pm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/w1sye.org\/?p=1452","title":{"rendered":"Please join OSECA net Tuesday @ 7 PM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new net will meet <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1419207130\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Tuesday December 2nd at 7 PM<\/span><\/span> on any of the <a title=\"KA1RCI OSECA Info\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ka1rci.net\/ka1rci_repeater\/alliancenet\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\">KA1RCI Repeater Nodes<\/a>.\u00a0 For the Newport Area, the best choice will be the Exeter node which is 146.985 with a -600 Offset and a Tone of 67.0 Hz (the Portsmouth Node is currently down for repair).<\/p>\n<p>OSECA is the Ocean State Emergency Communication Alliance, and it was created through cooperative discussion with local EMA and Ham Radio Teams throughout the state.\u00a0 Our own John King, WA1ABI, is very involved in this process and has asked NCRC members to please support this new net.\u00a0 He has written the following:<\/p>\n<p>Good People:<\/p>\n<p>A brand new 2-meter EmComm net is starting up next <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1419207131\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Tuesday, Dec 2nd at 19:00<\/span><\/span> on the KA1RCI repeater network.\u00a0 This net will be open to all hams, but the primary purpose is to connect the hams who serve in the various EmComm teams in Rhode Island.\u00a0 Several other EMA\u2019s have EmComm teams like our Portsmouth EMA EmComm Unit, but at present we have no connections between those teams.\u00a0 We hope to improve this with the Ocean State Emergency Communications Alliance (OSECA) Net.<\/p>\n<p>Please make every effort to check in to this first net session <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1419207132\"><span class=\"aQJ\">on Tuesday<\/span><\/span>. The net will be an informal directed net, something like the NCRC nightly net. I expect that we will have folks from all over RI checking in. I have been working with the EMA ham radio teams in Coventry, Providence, and Westerly to get this net going, and I am asking for your support in making it a success. Please check in if you are able. Note: The KA1RCI 147.075 Portsmouth repeater is temporarily off the air.
