Goal: To be as competitive as possible, i.e. to get the maximum number of points. Why? Because the club members have said they desire to do well on a national basis and are willing to put in the work that it takes to maximize the club score.
Additional Goals: have fun, comradely, learn new skills, & get as many members involved as possible.

FD starts at 1400 on Saturday, June 26, 2021, operating for 24 hours, always the 4th weekend in June.

Where: The Glen in Portsmouth, on Glen Road.

Set up at the Glen starts at 0900 on Friday, June 25.

Entry Class: 2A – 2 primary stations (CW and SSB), outdoor with no commercial power

Call sign for CW & SSB, & all ops except GOTA: NE1RI

Call sign for GOTA:  W1SYE

Covid restrictions:  no club wide dinner on Saturday night. The Glen’s kitchen will be closed for the duration of our event. Bag meals will be provided for lunch on Friday, lunch & dinner on Sat and lunch on Sunday.

Operators will do their own logging. One person in a tent or operating station at a time. Laptop computers with N3FJP’s Field Day software logging program will be provided.

We need YOU for set up at the Glen on Friday. Pls show up at 0900 on Friday 6/25 with hard hat (if you have one) & gloves.

7.3.7. Satellite QSO: 100 bonus points: Bob, WB4SON

7.3.9. W1AW Bulletin: 100 bonus points for copying Field Day bulletin: Bob, WB4SON

Points for VHF station:

VHF/UHF station earns QSO credits but no bonus points. See p. 3 para. 4.1.2 in ARRL Field Day Packet for 2021.

Post Ops Reporting: Mills, Vecoli, Maclean, Beatty, Bartram

EQUIPMENT:

Computers: NCRC owns five Panasonic Toughbook PC laptops, plus cables, winkeyer, chargers, etc. The laptops will be installed with latest version logging software at the field day operating stations. The logging software is N3FJP’s Field Day program.

Field Day Equipment List is a spreadsheet listing all equipment needed for each operating station, and who is supplying it. This list will be send to everyone on the list and posted on the club’s web site.

Communications: a field day announcement (this document) will emailed to every member and posted on the club’s web site.

SATELLITE ACTIVITY:

Satellite station will be setup by 9:30 AM on Sunday and will remain on the air until at least one station is worked.  XW-2A, AO-91, ARISS, SO-50, and RS-44 passes should be workable, with XW-2A, AO-91, and ARISS between 10:30 and 11:05 AM local time all having great passes.
